We arrived in Las Vegas Sunday evening. It is so exciting seeing the strip from the plane as you are landing!! We got our room, which had to be upgraded (we do not recommend rooms at the Excalibur) and walked around a little and had a couple of drinks at a lounge before heading off to bed. Oh and of course I had to do a little gambling too :)
Monday was a great day. We walked and shopped all day long and had supper at the Bellagio. After supper we went and saw The Beatles "Love" by Cirque De Soliel - it was amazing. That night we were both pretty tired so Josh went off to bed and I gambled. Lost my money but it was still fun.
Tuesday we woke and went for a huge buffet brunch at the Aria hotel, which was just fantastic. Then walked around a little more, gambled a bit and then went for a nap. We went for supper and then to see a comedian named Frank Caliendo. He does impressions and was so funny. We had balcony seats but we lucked out when they needed some people to fill in some front seats!! After the show we went and watched a live band for a couple of hours then Josh headed off to bed and I stayed and won all my money back!! that was fun. Wednesday was actually a bit of a long day. We had reserved tickets to go see Hoover Dam and so had to wake up around 7 am. Having stayed up until 2 it was a little hard to get up and to make matters worse I forgot that my cell phone was still on Alberta time, which is an hour ahead, and so we actually ended up getting up at 6 am, which put our grand total at 4 hours of sleep. Those were mistakes 1 and 2. Mistake 3 was not getting a hotel room for another day (we left Wednesday night so had to check out at 11 am),so that we could come back to have naps and freshen up after the hoover dam tour. Hoover Dam was really neat and worth the trip. It was about 1 pm once the dam tour was done and we realized we had the whole day to fill and nothing planned and nowhere to go (mistake #4). We made the best of it though. We went to eat at a nice restaurant, then did some more shopping and mainly just tried to stay out of the rain (it rained the whole time we were there).
We got to the airport around 6 pm and were glad to get there early, as it took us over an hour to get checked in. We got to our departure gate and got settled in and had a couple of hours to burn, so I decided to play the machines for a little while (mistake #5). haha. Just as they were getting ready to load us on the plane they got word the Calgary Aiprort was shut down due to fog and we ended up being delayed a little over an hour. geesh. So by this time it was about 10 pm and we were exhausted. The flight went well though and we were able to get a little sleep. It circled the airport a few times and then was finally able to land about 2 am. We made it safe and sound though and it was a great time overall. We didn't take too many pictures, since it was our 4th time there, but here are a few.
